Planned Outage: 22 May, 07:30 [complete]

At approximately 07:30 this morning we will be shutting down our main web and mail server Sandy in order to install extra system memory. We expect this to take no longer than 30 minutes.

This upgrade is being carried out as we have noticed low memory causing the system to run slowly and become unresponsive at particularly busy times.

We hope you understand the need for this outage.

[update:] The upgrade was completed successfully and downtime was kept below 10 minutes.

DNS Issues

All domains still using 123-reg domains will be experiencing problems. They hope to have this fixed within around 30 mins. As soon as we have access again we will move all remaining domains to our DNS to prevent further issues.

Apologies for any inconvenience.

[Updated]: DNS seems to have been restored. We are now transferring all domains to our DNS to avoid future outages.

Emergency Switch Maintenance - Tuesday 9 Jan 2007

Emergency maintenance will be carried out on a core network switch in the Newbridge data centre which hosts out web server this evening at 22:00.

There will be a maximum outage of 30 minutes while a software and hardware upgrade is carried out.

This is to prevent further outages such as the short one experienced last night. Apologies for any inconvenience.

DNS Changes

Due to recent problems with the Pipex DNS service, we are starting to move all domain to our DNS server.

We do not expect any problems with this transitions, but if anyone notices any problems, or if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

DNS problems [resolved]

Pipex who host our DNS services are currently experiencing network issues which means some users may have problems resolving domains.
Pipex are working on the problem.

More Network Issues [resolved]

Since last night's network problems some users have been experiencing slow connections to our web server.

We are looking into this problem and will keep you updated.

Update: Packet loss was being caused by faults in routing between ISPs. This is now resolved and we are continuing to monitor the situation.

Network Connection Issues [resolved]

We have been experiencing some network connection issues with our web server Sandy.

This would appear to be caused by routing issues from work being carried out in London by our ISPs which means certain networks cannot access ours correctly.

We are looking into the problem and hope to have the problem resolved ASAP.

Update: This only seems to be affecting a small number of networks. We expect this to be resolved by soon after 1am. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Update2: As of 01:08 network connectivity seems to be fully restored. Once again sorry for any inconvenience.

Power System Maintenance: 30 Nov 2006

Power maintenance is being carried out at the data centre housing our web server sandy on Thursday 30 Nov at about 20:00.

The maintenance should last no longer than 20 minutes but we do not expect to suffer any downtime as there are backup systems in place.
